Plumbing and party

I slept in late today. I woke up briefly in the morning to call Dad, then went back to bed. When I got up again it was 10:30. I was happy. I cleaned up quickly and headed to the gym. Afterwards I got banh mi for lunch, came back home for a bit, then went to a local bakery and bought some pastries for Dave's BBQ party.

The girl at Perfectly Sweet was very, how should I say this, inpolite. She had no smiles, she never said thanks, and she barely looked at me. I guess if I had to work on Labor Day I'd be pissed off too. Still, of all the times I had been there, today was the first time I regretted visiting this bakery. I probably won't go back again.

Dave's party did not start 'til later. He was having a serious plumbing problem and trying hard to fix it. Eventually he had to call a plumber - It might end up costing a lot, since it was a holiday and after 6 PM. Still, Dave wanted it done today. Luckily the plumber was able to take care of parts of the problem, but would have to come back to finish the rest. He worked very hard while everyone was eating, I felt bad for him and Dave. This plumbing thing made the whole BBQ thing extra special and memorable.
